Concussions

Students who suffer from cognitive impairments like concussions may struggle with balancing their coursework during the recovery period. As each situation is different, students are advised to work closely with their practitioner or medical provider and their Allston Burr Resident Dean/Resident Dean of Freshmen during that time, as well as the Disability Access Office. All of these individuals can provide support and resources to navigate the demands of an academic workload with the need to devote time to recovery. The focus should be on a student's recovery and well-being. These resources work together to provide a support system and a clear sense of the options available.

Below is a list of resources compiled for students in this type of situation, along with a brief description of the type of help they may be able to provide.

College Resources

In some instances, students have found that time away from the College allows them the best opportunity to recover fully, giving them the time and space to concentrate on their health. You can find more about that option here.
